Job Details:
SUMMARY:
This position supports plant operations by assisting in cost control, ensuring compliance with federal meat inspection and OSHA regulations, and enforcing company policies. Responsibilities include maintaining a non-union workforce, supporting manpower planning, and overseeing shift operations. The role also involves collaborating with departments to meet production, quality, and efficiency goals, maintaining standards in safety, sanitation, and food safety, and managing, training, and evaluating production supervisors. Additional duties may be assigned by the Plant Manager.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High school diploma required; college degree preferred or equivalent experience.
Experience:
3–5 years of beef harvest experience required
5+ years of supervisory experience in a meat processing facility preferred
Working knowledge of OSHA, USDA, and HACCP regulations
Computer Skills: Proficiency with standard computer applications
Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, from hourly team members to senior management, as well as government officials
Leadership & Special Skills:
Proven leader, team player, and problem solver
Leads by example, delegates effectively, and demonstrates sound judgment
Strong managerial skills with a commitment to safety, food quality, and performance goals
Excellent attendance and safety record
Ability to collaborate across departments to achieve production, quality, and yield targets
Responsible for personal and food safety, food quality, and legal compliance
Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages a team of subordinate supervisors and plant personnel. Responsibilities include hiring, training, work assignment, performance evaluation, coaching, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution in compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
Travel Requirement: 0–20%
