Job Overview:

FM Industries is recognized as a premier manufacturing solutions provider of manufacturing services for the semiconductor capital equipment market. We specialize in build to print, precision machined components, anodization and engineered thermal spray coatings.

We are looking for highly motivated Tool Crib Attendants to support our Machine Shop growth. This is an hourly, non-exempt position eligible for overtime pay.


Provides information regarding tooling availability and assists in determining manufacturing schedule of needed tooling in relationship with production schedule. Places, confirms, and tracks in-sourced and outsourced tooling orders and delivery.


  • Manage min/max inventory levels of masks, fixtures, fixture assemblies, and applicable tooling and report any changes required through MRP system
  • Monitor wear rate of tooling using inspection gages to determine proper disposition
  • Dispose of decommissioned tooling
  • Coordinate with Production Manager to provide information regarding tooling availability in relationship with Machining schedule
  • Coordinate with Materials Manager to confirm outsourced tooling orders and delivery
  • Place orders for new tooling as required through requisition process
  • Work with Tooling Supervisor to assist in determining manufacturing schedule of needed tooling to coincide with production schedule
  • Track tooling delivery from in-sourced and out-sourced suppliers
  • Measure new incoming tooling to verify it meets the drawing requirements before introducing into inventory
  • Assemble masks, fixtures, subplates, and all other defined tooling to form a complete assembly, verify heights diameters, and other applicable dimensions
  • Collaborate with engineering to troubleshoot fixture or assembly concerns through problem solving and continuous improvement
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in Tool Crib
  • Continue to advance methods for documenting tool usage
  • Improve upon current storage system
  • Work with Tooling Cell Supervisor to establish methods for maintaining inventory levels
  • Comply with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, Company policy and accepted safe work practices.
  • Perform other duties as needed.


  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years’ experience
  • Basic understanding of GD&T and able to apply knowledge
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Proficient with - Micrometers, Height Gage, Gage Blocks, Calipers, Test Indicators
  • Ability to perform basic math functions, read and follow basic instructions and write legibly
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Suite)
  • MRP/ERP system knowledge
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
