SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for driving the execution of quality goals and objectives. Proactively drives actions to meet internal and external customer expectations for quality. Works cross-functionally to identify causes of potential product/process failures and drive corrective and preventative actions internally and/or with suppliers as needed. Uses sound audit techniques and statistical tools to identify high leverage continuous improvement projects to elevate the company Quality delivery to our customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Capture internal quality performance data and provide linkage to process owners to drive improvement
- Ensure timely resolution of failures, and corrective and preventative actions
- Perform Internal Process Audits and develop quality plans and other process control procedures to ensure processes, work in progress and finished goods meet the specified quality standards
- Analyze product specifications and manufacturing processes/procedures to determine best practices to meet or exceed our quality and ISO standards
- Lead continuous improvement activities (CIP, 6S, Kaizen) and root cause analysis/corrective actions to become Best-in Class
- Create and maintain company quality documentation and ensure that the ISO quality system is effectively established, implemented, and maintained
- Determine quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes
- Read and interpret product drawings and internal/customer specifications to ensure quality requirements are being met
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures/Work Instructions
- Comply with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, Company policy and accepted safe work practices.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Material Sciences
- 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing-related industry, semiconductor equipment preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- 3-5 years’ experience ASME 15.5 GD&T
- Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment
- Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to construct and present information to a wide range of audiences, both internal and external
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio
PREFERRED TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Technical knowledge of machining, specialized coatings and/or precision cleaning processes
- 8D root cause analysis, with corrective and preventive actions to respond to customer concerns
- Certified Quality Engineer or comparable desired (SSBB, SSGB, LSS)
