DESCRIPTION:
Develop, evaluate, and improve complex manufacturing process plans utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling, equipment capabilities, assembly methods and quality standards. Work collaboratively with all functional groups (including the Manufacturing group, NPI Engineering group and the Equipment Engineering group) to provide solutions while effectively managing process, policy, and strategy changes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Accountable to ensure all products/processes are designed with the six sigma philosophy - DFSS
- Develops, selects and implements engineering techniques and solutions to solve difficult problems
- Initiates, recommends, and provides solutions for process optimization to improve reliability
- Analyze product to meet customer requirements
- Work on cross functional teams such as tooling designers and robot programmers to provide feedback for improvements.
- Use of laboratory equipment to perform testing for analysis and report
- Interpretation of technical drawings and compare to quality reports.
- Provides engineering support including plasma spray process support.
- Understanding basic operation of gas panels and plasma systems operation
- Understanding basic operation of robotic arms
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- BS or MS in Material Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related degree
- Semiconductor industry experience strongly desired
- Knowledge of plasma spray processes
- Material Science background
- Ability to apply concepts of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry for product definition
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to effectively speak, present information, and respond to questions in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, and legal documents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experienced in SolidWorks design (a plus)
- Knowledge of robot operation (a plus)
