Job Overview:

**Awning & Shade Fabrication Technician

Full-Time | Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM**

Friday Off (Overtime as Needed)

What You'll Do

Fabrication & Production

  • Measure, cut, and prepare fabric materials according to project specifications
  • Operate industrial sewing equipment to sew, hem, reinforce, and assemble fabric products
  • Install grommets, zippers, keder, valances, and other finishing components
  • Assist with assembly of aluminum and steel framework systems
  • Stretch and secure fabric onto frames to achieve a tight, professional finish

Quality & Installation Support

  • Inspect completed products to ensure quality and proper fit
  • Test moving components and verify products are installation-ready
  • Prepare hardware, brackets, and installation kits for field crews
  • Assist with field measurements or complex installation projects as needed

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ year of sewing, fabrication, manufacturing, upholstery, canvas, or related experience preferred
  • Strong measuring and layout skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Ability to use hand tools and basic fabrication equipment
  • Ability to read and follow drawings, measurements, and work instructions

Preferred Experience

  • Industrial sewing experience
  • Experience working with awning, marine, upholstery, canvas, vinyl, or shade products
  • Familiarity with materials such as Sunbrella, PVC, acrylic, or coated fabrics
  • Experience with grommet presses, fabric welders, or similar equipment

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and move up to 50 pounds
