Work Schedule:
- Second Shift (2P – 10:30P) Monday – Friday, + $1.25 shift differential

Job Overview:
We are currently hiring for Machine Repair Journeyman on second shift. This person is responsible for insuring a well-functioning facility, repairs and maintains manufacturing equipment, machinery, and plant systems. Uses hand tools, shop tools, and test equipment to troubleshoot varied electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical components and systems.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Work in a safe manner, following all general safety rules of the plant. This includes but is not limited to the following tasks:
- Following PPE requirements
- Escalating safety defects and concerns to leads/supervisors
- Assure that we are always working to meet or exceed our quality standards. This includes but is not limited to the following tasks:
- Following GMP requirements
- Inspecting raw materials and finished goods
- Completing quality documentation
- Assisting in rework as assigned
- Escalating quality defects and concerns to leads/supervisors
- Responsible for supporting the facility to include but is not limited to the following tasks:
- Supporting start up, shut down, and changeover tasks
- Clearing jams
- Assisting with sanitation and housekeeping as required
- Troubleshooting equipment as necessary
- Supplying, sorting, and inspecting materials and ingredients at the line
- Perform continuous safety inspections on all operating equipment in assigned area.
- Report all safety hazards/conditions to immediate supervisor.
- Perform PM’s, maintain and repair machines and equipment.
- Prepare and set-up or change over machinery for production, checking proper assembly and making any necessary adjustments.
- Troubleshoot, repair and maintain conveyor systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, equipment photo cells, and air compressors.
- Set and adjust plant equipment.
- Clear jams in production equipment, retime components, and restart line safely.
- Change sprockets, bearings, shafts, motors, and gear boxes.
- Find and eliminate alarm trouble codes.
- Assist other members of the Maintenance Team as needed to accomplish repairs and adjustments in a timely, safe, and accurate manner.
- Use the computer to enter work orders and find parts in SAP.
- Set-up of, & Troubleshoot Video-Jet coder.
- Set glue patterns and timing on all hot melt gluing systems.
- Rebuild diaphragm and solvent pumps.
- Perform specific duties as specified per the Emergency Response Plan in the event of an emergency situation or drill.
- Support Kraft Heinz Management System (KHMS) at the operator level. This includes, but is not limited to, participation in the following processes:
- Shift Hand Offs Meetings
- Level 1 Meetings
- Performance Boards
- Centerline Management (CLM)
- Clean to Inspect and Reapply Lubrication (CIL)
- 5S
- Defect Handling
- Start Up/Shut Down
- Changeovers
- Daily Problem Handling
- Work with support departments to improve line performance
- Keep work area clean and orderly
- Perform any other duty as assigned by supervisor or lead person
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the functions of this position. Frequent and sustained physical effort is required including standing and walking, bending and twisting, using hands and fingers to handle and feel, reach with arms and hands, talk loudly and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, turn, reach, push, pull, climb, balance or crouch. Must wear all PPE required. Employee must regularly lift/move up to 40 pounds and occasionally moves up to 60 pounds. Mechanical assistance will be used to move skids of material up to 3,000 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to react and move quickly in case of emergency is mandatory.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. Working conditions include extremes of heat, cold and humidity. The employee will be exposed during his/her job to high noise levels, chemicals, exposure to strong odors, fumes or airborne particles, constant stair climbing, and slippery floors.
Personal Protective Equipment: The employee is regularly required to wear company authorized safety shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves, rubber boots, chemical protection and other personal protective equipment to successfully perform the functions of this job safely.
Qualifications:
- Upon hire will train to become Lock Out Tag Out certified and maintain qualification
- Must successfully pass on the job training and maintain operator qualification
- Machine Repair Journeyman Card
