Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Automotive Technician / Automotive Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing automobiles and light-duty vehicles. This position is ideal for an experienced automotive professional who takes pride in quality workmanship, accurate diagnostics, safe work practices, and getting vehicles back on the road efficiently.

The successful candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of automotive systems, and the ability to identify problems, perform repairs, and complete preventive maintenance with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and performance issues using diagnostic tools, scan tools, and testing equipment.
• Perform automotive maintenance and repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and other vehicle systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems, wiring, starting and charging systems, sensors, and related components.
• Inspect vehicles to identify worn, damaged, defective, or malfunctioning parts.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including oil changes, fluid services, filter replacements, and routine vehicle inspections.
• Repair and replace automotive components as needed to restore proper vehicle operation.
• Use hand tools, power tools, specialty automotive tools, lifts, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
• Read and interpret repair orders, service manuals, technical documentation, and diagnostic information.
• Identify the root cause of mechanical problems and recommend appropriate repairs.
• Verify completed repairs through operational checks, testing, and inspections.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow established safety procedures, manufacturer specifications, and quality standards.
• Document completed repairs, parts used, and maintenance performed.
• Communicate repair findings, service needs, and potential issues to supervisors or service personnel.
• Complete assigned work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail and quality.

Required Qualifications

• Previous hands-on experience as an Automotive Technician, Automotive Mechanic, Auto Repair Technician, or in a similar mechanical repair position.
• Strong knowledge of automotive mechanical systems and repair procedures.
• Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical or electrical problems.
• Ability to use automotive hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions, repair manuals, and work orders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, and dependable attendance.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, reach, and perform physical work throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift and move automotive parts and equipment as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with computerized automotive diagnostic systems and OBD-II scan tools.
• Experience with engine performance, brake systems, suspension, steering, and electrical troubleshooting.
• ASE certifications or manufacturer-specific automotive training.
• Technical school, automotive technology training, or relevant mechanical education.
• Experience working in an automotive repair shop, dealership, fleet maintenance department, or service center.
• Experience diagnosing complex mechanical issues and completing repairs with minimal supervision.
