Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Technician for our plastics facility located in Pontiac. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing automated systems to ensure efficient production processes. Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot automated machinery and equipment in the plastics production line.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on automation systems.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement process improvements and upgrades.
- Document maintenance activities and maintain accurate records of repairs and modifications.
- Assist in training production staff on the operation of automated systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations in all automation processes.
- Identify and resolve technical issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Automation Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in automation systems, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of PLC programming and control systems.
- Familiarity with robotics and automated machinery in plastics processing.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
