Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Automation Technician to join our team at Tyson Foods. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting automated systems and machinery within our production facilities. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and control systems to ensure the efficient operation of automated equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain automated machinery and control systems.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on automated equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and control system issues.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize automation processes.
- Program and modify PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces).
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Document maintenance activities and update technical manuals as needed.
- Provide training and support to production staff on the operation of automated systems.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and reliability.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Automation Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A bachelor's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience as an Automation Technician or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming, HMI configuration, and control systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Preferred Skills:
- Experience with robotics and vision systems.
- Familiarity with industrial networking and communication protocols.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to automated systems.
- Certification in automation or control systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs).
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing, walking, and climbing.
