Job Summary: The Automation Technician will be responsible for assisting in the assembly, wiring, installation, and setup of automation systems. This role requires a hands-on approach to mechanical and electrical tasks, as well as the opportunity to develop skills in PLC coding and control systems. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in automation technology while developing their technical expertise in assembly, wiring, and troubleshooting. The Automation Technician will play a key role in ensuring the successful deployment of automation systems while learning advanced control system methodologies.
General Responsibilities:
Assist Engineers with projects and ensure completion within scope and timeline.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following organizational safety protocols.
Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
Assist project engineers with the mechanical assembly, wiring, and installation of
systems.
Assemble systems based on provided drawings and layouts.
Wire systems according to provided control wiring diagrams.
Set up system PCs and ensure all components function as required.
Develop an understanding of system components, their functions, and setup
requirements.
Assist in the development and review of Functional Specifications (FSD).
Travel to customer sites to assist with system installations and troubleshooting. For full-time technicians, travel can average 35-40% of the time.
Participate in (Company) technical system support and troubleshooting.
Cross-train with mechanical engineers to broaden knowledge and skillset.
Work with the engineering team to begin learning PLC coding and control systems.
Attend training classes as assigned by the Engineering Manager

Associate’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
Must be able to lift at least 50lbs
Authorized to work in the United States

Work during the hours of 7am to 4pm as schedule.
