Job Overview:

Position Summary:

Responsible for designing and building electrical components for equipment that the engineering group is working on.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install, program, or repair robots, robot controllers, and other equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance, including checking equipment daily and making improvements. Responsible for performing preventative maintenance tasks on robots, tooling and associated equipment.
  • Working closely with all team members, identify and resolve issues with robots and systems, such as operational errors. This process may involve utilizing remote support from the original equipment manufacturer.
  • Repair/Replace defective parts, such as circuit boards, sensors, controllers, servo motors, and other associated parts pertaining to the robotic equipment.
  • Align, fit, or assemble components using hand tools, power tools, jigs, etc. Assemble equipment or components.
  • Monitor and document performance on robotic equipment while in operation. Develop plans for repairs and improvements as needed.
  • Assist with training associates on the operation and mechanical repairs of the robotic equipment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule. On-call support will be required as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to travel for training purposes is required.
  • Abide by all regulations, policies, codes, work procedures, and instructions.
  • Follow all safety rules and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and use all appropriate safety equipment.

Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in electrical field with programming experience preferred.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Licenses, Certification, etc.:

  • Knowledge of NEC, NFPA and ISA standards.
  • Knowledge of Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment is essential.

Education and/or Experience:

  • A two-year technical degree, certification or related work experience is required.
  • Five years’ experience with robotics is required.
  • Mechanical experience is a plus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; twist; bend; stoop; lift up to 50 pounds, talk, and hear. The employee will be standing for long periods of time and will be required to walk on a slippery production floor. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Temperature in the plant can reach 100 degrees in the summer and 50 degrees in the winter, will be exposed to flour and gluten, will enter the freezer.

The noise level in the plant is moderate to loud in areas.
