Job Description

Howmet Aerospace is seeking an expereinced Automation Technician for **2nd Shift **(2:00pm - 10:00pm CST). This position is primarily responsible for providing support for HLC PLC systems (Allen Bradley), HMI’s, and robotic control systems.

Essential Functions

• Key emphasis on maintaining and improving reliability and productivity of robotic/automated systems.

• Providing specialized technical expertise in the application and use of material handling, control, and automation technology for plant facilities and processes.

• Install, configure, and program automation equipment and machinery

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on automated systems to ensure optimal performance

• Troubleshoot and resolve problems with automated machinery, including electrical, mechanical, and software issues

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required

• Associate degree in a technical discipline **or **related field experience is required

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 – 3 years’ experience, preferably in an industrial/manufacturing environment.

• Robotic experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency in varying control and automation programs including RSLogix5000 or similar control and automation software.

• Ability to integrate new devices into legacy systems.

• Basic understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems in a diverse industrial environment.

• Strong electrical/controls aptitude.

• Familiarity with a wide variety of facility infrastructure systems.

• Ability to rapidly grasp concepts and understand processes.
