Automation Technician

We're recruiting for an experienced Automation Technician to join a leading machinery manufacturer in Kansas City, MO.

This is a hands-on role supporting engineering projects, machine integration, commissioning activities and advanced troubleshooting of automated production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

• Support electrical and mechanical setup, installation and testing for engineering and R&D projects
• Troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical and automation issues on production equipment
• Provide second-level technical support for machine and software-related issues
• Integrate third-party equipment into complete production line solutions
• Support commissioning and startup of new machines and production lines
• Execute and document research and development testing activities
• Support remote connectivity and digital solutions for customer systems
• Travel to customer sites for installations, troubleshooting and project support
• Work closely with Engineering and Service teams to resolve technical issues
• Support continuous improvement and new product development initiatives

What We're Looking For

• Associate Degree or Technical Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred
• 2+ years' experience in field service, industrial maintenance, packaging machinery or a similar technical environment
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and controls experience
• Experience working with automated machinery and complex production systems
• Knowledge of electrical controls, pneumatics and machine design principles
• Commissioning experience is preferred
• SAP and Salesforce experience is beneficial
• Ability to travel throughout North America and internationally as required
• German language skills are an advantage
