Available Shifts: Day Shift (7a-3:30p)
Comprehensive Compensation Package:
- Pay Rate: $33-$44per hour - Depending on Experience
Job Description:
- The primary job function consists of the maintenance and repair of all mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of the automation equipment.
- This will include rebuilds, general inspections, and preventive maintenance.
- Other duties include diagnosing, repairing, and/or replacing electrical components as necessary.
- Assist in upgrades of process control equipment as new technology develops.
- Maintain an understanding of the latest state-of-the-art control systems.
- Will also assist the shift Operator Mechanics by performing repairs on mechanical systems when needed.
- Good understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting, robotics/automation.
Job Duties of an Automation Technician:
- Electrical duties: performing all major and minor electrical repairs including 480V 3-phase motor repairs/installation, motor starter circuit repairs, VFD drives, photo-optic sensing devices, proximity switches, e-stop circuitry, and group fault detection in accordance to the guidelines established by Pactiv’s “Electrical Safety Program”, read and interpret schematics and basic electrical symbol identification, understand electrical theory including basic OHMS-law application, AC/DC drives, PLC, basic motor control circuits
- Troubleshoot maintenance problems that occur throughout the plant with a major emphasis on electrical problems, to include A.C.(Alternating Current) and D.C. (Direct Current) drives, PLC (programmable logic controllers), as well as basic motor control circuits.
- Maintenance and repair of all mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of automation equipment
- Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance work on automation equipment in a manufacturing/production environment
- Perform maintenance, set-up, and PM on automation equipment in the Injection Molding department
- On-call as needed by the department and able to be flexible with schedule as needed
- Use standard and metric hand tools to complete tasks and duties
- Mechanical duties: clean, lubricate, and adjust equipment when needed, examine mechanical equipment to diagnose and repair problems, disassemble, repair/replace, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment/devices, including motors, conveyors, pumps, belts, chains, etc., read mechanical prints and technical data during installation and repair of equipment, read and interpret PI&D drawings
- May assist with the training of other employees
- Utilize mandatory safety equipment; execute duties safely and efficiently; adhere to all safety rules and regulations
- Assists maintenance and production staff as needed
- Other duties may be assigned as needed
Qualifications:
- Analytical, problem-solving, and strong electrical and PLC programming, technical skills, including mechanical.
- Strong skills in customer service, interpersonal, oral communication, written communications, teamwork, judgment, motivation, planning, organizing, professionalism, quality, quantity, safety, adaptability, attendance, punctuality, dependability, initiative, innovation.
- HS Diploma or Equivalency, preferred associate’s degree.
- 5 + years of automation technician experience within the Thermoforming and Extrusion industry.
