Job Overview:

Duties & Responsibilities

‐ Provide expert level field support for a wide array of programmable logic controllers including Allen Bradley, Scada Pac, Fisher ROC and Omron

‐ Interpret and troubleshoot PLC logic including ladder logic, function block, and structured text routines

- Collaborate with SCADA Analysts to perform support of SCADA Applications, Servers and Network equipment for the field communications.

- Troubleshoot, repair/replace Communication devices at SCADA Towers including network switches, IP-to-serial devices, access points, and serial master radios.

- Provide PLC and field Device Register mapping, tagnames and other input/output locations for loading data into SCADA Applications.

- On-site support and trouble response when SCADA network and communications outages occur, replace or reconfigure equipment as needed

‐ Maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot field instrumentation devices for process equipment including, but not limited to: pressure, flow and temperature devices; automated and mechanical level control and measurement devices; analytical equipment and instrumentation

‐ Design, install, inspect and troubleshoot electrical equipment in accordance with NEC NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, API RP 500 and company standards

‐ Identify, interpret and effectively use drawings and documentation related to electrical and process controls including Electrical One‐line diagrams, Elementary diagrams, wiring schematics, control schematics, P&ID’s, Cause and Effect diagrams, Instrument Loop diagrams, Interconnect diagrams, etc.

‐ Troubleshoot and repair motor control circuits and equipment including VFD’s, motors and motor control circuits

‐ Develop written job plans for electrical and instrumentation projects

‐ Plan and direct procurement of repair parts and material for electrical and instrument systems for project and maintenance purposes

‐ Coordinate and conduct maintenance activities on end devices to include pre‐programming of transmitters w/ hart communicator and ensure data accuracy

‐ Conduct in depth failure analysis on repeat equipment failures

‐ Provide accurate quotes for automation and maintenance projects

‐ Mentor Techs on troubleshooting and repairs of automation equipment

‐ Respond and provide automation support during all outages

‐ Operate within an assigned work schedule and maintain zero out of compliance work orders

‐ Provide input on new technologies

‐ Assist technicians during storm outages to bring wells back online

‐ Work with appropriate staff to develop automated solution and troubleshooting of automated assets

‐ Work to design, build, test, and implement automation solutions for Scout

‐ Confirm and QC technical and analytical work tasks by conducting tests; modify as needed

‐ Maintain workflow and programming documentation for all work by developing and updating procedures & manuals

‐ Perform other various tasks as assigned by supervisor

Skills & Specifications

‐ Knowledge of and ability to use SCADA systems (Cygnet and WonderWare)

‐ Knowledge of and ability to use various programming softwares inlcuding RSLogix, Roclink, IsaGraf, Win PCCU and MDS Configuration softwares

‐ Knowledge of RTUs. Understanding of digital and analog I/O, programming, and troubleshooting

‐ Has integrity, good communication skills, and a positive attitude

‐ Strong work ethic

‐ Comfortable working in a fast‐paced high‐pressure production environment

‐ Maintains good housekeeping in all areas of responsibility

‐ Must have a high degree of concentration in a busy area

‐ Must be willing to travel to various field sites with austere conditions on occasion

Education & Qualifications

‐ Possess a valid driver’s license, CDL a plus (may be required in some locations)

‐ Legally authorized to work in the United States

‐ Able to pass a pre‐employment drug and background check

‐ Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited, state‐certified program

‐ Certifications from trade schools and/or professional organizations are preferred

‐ Must be capable and willing to work overtime as required and participate in an on‐call rotation

‐ Knowledgeable in operating and maintaining equipment within oil and gas facilities preferred

‐ Capable of lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 50lbs

‐ Capable of vigorous outdoor activities and have manual dexterity with physical ability to work extended hours, climbing, bending, kneeling, squatting, working with arms extended above the head, twisting upper body, standing for long periods, working in confined spaces, exposure to extreme weather conditions, driving a vehicle, operation of forklifts and light industrial equipment
