Maintenance Technician

Location: Onsite | Buffalo Grove, IL

Employment Type: Full-Time / Direct Hire

Pay: $28–$34/hour

Bonus: 5% quarterly bonus opportunity (up to 20% annually)

Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts

• Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM, rotating schedule

• Night Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM, rotating schedule + 10% shift differential

Position Overview

We are hiring Maintenance Technicians to support a highly automated manufacturing environment in Buffalo Grove, IL. This is a direct-hire opportunity offering competitive hourly pay, quarterly bonus potential, and additional compensation for night shift.

This is an excellent opportunity for technicians with experience in automated manufacturing, robotics, material handling, or warehouse automation who enjoy hands-on troubleshooting and keeping complex equipment running. You’ll work with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, robotic, and PLC-controlled systems to minimize downtime and keep production operating safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Troubleshoot and repair automated manufacturing, robotic, and material handling equipment • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues and return equipment to service quickly and safely • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on robotic systems, automated equipment, and process support equipment • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and assist with automation system diagnostics • Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and automated system diagrams • Identify equipment failures, determine root causes, and complete effective repairs • Disassemble equipment, inspect components, and repair or replace defective parts • Perform equipment calibrations, re-qualifications, and scheduled system validations • Assist engineering and automation teams with equipment installation, upgrades, and system qualification • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability and reducing downtime

What We’re Looking For

• Hands-on maintenance experience in automated manufacturing, robotics, material handling, conveyor, or automated warehouse environments • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills • Experience working with PLC-controlled machinery or automated equipment • Ability to read and troubleshoot from electrical schematics and mechanical drawings • Preventive and corrective maintenance experience in a high-volume or automated environment • Ability to diagnose equipment issues, identify root causes, and complete repairs safely and efficiently • Strong computer, documentation, and communication skills

Additional Technical Experience Preferred

• Robotics, conveyors, automation, or material handling systems • Electronic troubleshooting and assembly, including schematics, PCB loading, or mechanical assembly • Cable and harness work, including crimping, soldering, connector assembly, and cable preparation • Diagnostic and testing equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, or cable/harness testers • Automated manufacturing equipment, including surface mount, component insertion, or wave soldering equipment • Mechanical and electrical hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, alignment tools, taps & dies, and pneumatic tools
