Job Description:
Under general direction, supports the efficient manufacturing of existing products and introduction of new products through the entire process from concept to customer; with a focus on the manufacturing deliverables that impact the operations.
This hands on position focuses on conceptualizing, specifying, debugging and supporting the equipment necessary to improve cost and consistency (variability reduction).
Duties and Responsibilities
Develops, implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies.
Takes initiative to define, analyze, and lead implementation of process improvement projects in manufacturing. Continually seeks out improvement opportunities. Works with others to successfully implement these activities.
Install and troubleshoot automation equipment for molding and stamping machines and secondary operations to achieve a fully integrated work cell.
Purchase components needed to repair and upgrade automation equipment.
Create and/or modify existing end of tooling and automation equipment.
Interface automation equipment to achieve integrated work cells.
Make observations and implement action items to reduce cycle time, improve efficiency and productivity.
Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.
Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.
Works on issues of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of relevant factors.
Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
Performs work based on theoretical engineering principles and creative application of related tasks. Applies engineering problem solving skills to perform duties and responsibilities.
Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Associates degree in related field and/or equivalent experienced
Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, including experience with PLC’s and other robotics
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Experience with lean manufacturing techniques
Passionate about problem solving and executing improvements within the business
