  • Work Schedule: M-F; Rotating On-call Schedule for nights/weekends/holidays
  • Employee Incentive Program: position will come with a 10% target, 20% Stretch bonus, depending on company performance

Automation Engineer Job, Roswell, GA, GA


Arclin USA is currently seeking talent for a Automation Engineer job for our Roswell, GA location. Reporting into the Automation Engineering Manager, this position is responsible for developing and implementing advanced process control strategies, standards, and applications to achieve new levels of process safety, production efficiency, product quality, and low cost in continuous web, and specialty chemical processes.  

Automation Engineer Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide automation engineering in the specification, design, development, installation, commissioning, and validation of process control systems for capital projects of significant scope and complexity.
  • Provide site operational support for troubleshooting, optimization, incident investigation, and root cause analysis of instrumentation and control systems and related process issues.
  • Develop process control applications utilizing PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA.
  • Develop electrical and instrumentation specifications to ensure proper installation of automated systems, and documented Automation Standards to ensure consistent implementation of control system Instrumentation, networking, and programming across all sites and processes.
  • Provide training of site personnel regarding installation and maintenance of hardware, configuration of software, and start-up of automation systems, including documentation of the process control systems to aid the sites in their training of additional personnel.
  • Make recommendations on upgrades of existing electrical, controls and mechanical components /equipment as new technology dictates and identify strengths and weaknesses of current equipment.
  • Coordinate process control system integration between Manufacturing management, R&T, IT, and the control system vendor(s).
  • Provide on-site programming for plant automation systems at plant sites, including process control systems and development of standard practices to improve plant productivity and consistency.
  • Perform programming, design, installation and lifecycle management of manufacturing process controls, automation and field instrumentation technologies.


Automation Engineer Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3-7+ years of Instrumentation/Controls experience, OR
    Associate’s degree and 10 years of Automation experience
  • Two of the following, totaling (4) years of job experience in:
    • Troubleshooting of industrial instrumentation and controls using electrical test instrumentation and tools.
    • Process Control Systems integration with DCS, PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems
    • Design of control system architectures, and administration of control computers, networks, and communications.
    • Implementing advance control strategies for process optimization.
    • Reading and Producing Control System Documentation: electrical one-line drawings, cable schedules, functional descriptions, I/O lists, control scheme, electrical and maintenance schematics/blueprints etc.
    • Experience programming AB PLC 5/500/5000
  • Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Work schedule flexibility to support 24/7 operations, including occasional after-hours support.
  • Ability to operate safely in a manufacturing environment; this may include, but is not limited to potentially lifting up to 20 lbs, standing for extended periods of time, bending,crouching, stooping, rotating, climbing stairs, or any combination of the previous, etc.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Process Controls, or Automation related technological field
  • Experience programming DeltaV
  • Knowledge of automation control of batch and continuous processes
