Electro-Mechanical Automation Engineer Job Description:
Establishes safety as a priority within the Automation Team, and throughout the plant. Works closely with the Automation Team on safety suggestions / implementations. Demonstrates support of a “zero harm” environment
Provides strong experience based leadership for the plant Automation Team
Oversees all plant Automation equipment. Responsible for planning, scheduling, training and directing both direct and indirect staff for automation maintenance and automation projects. Responsible for monthly automation maintenance spend
Responsible for all productivity in the automation areas, addressing day-to-day interruptions as they arise. Areas of automation include, but are not limited to, product counting/stacking, product bagging, case packing, palletizing, product conveying and robotic systems
Develops customer relationships with all departments and serves as their Automation point of contact - understands their needs and expectations and translate them into Automation service solutions
Develops, implements and/or continually improves preventive maintenance programs, and procedures for the effective operation of our automation equipment, including the documentation of this work
Prepares cost estimates for automation safety programs, repairs and/or renovations, equipment upgrades and cost savings projects. Serve as the project lead for these programs, providing guidance for design, implementation, and installation & startup support
Power user of the plant CMMS. Ensures proper recording of maintenance connection tickets, allocation of hours, ticket follow up and ticket closure
Qualifications:
A 4-year degree in a technical discipline with 2-3 years industrial automation experience; or a 2-year degree in a technical discipline with** 5 years** of industrial automation experience; or 10+ years of industrial automation experience
PLC and Controls System programming and robot experience required. Fanuc robot experience is preferred
Strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills with the ability to read schematics and utilize technical manuals; PLC and electrical schematic proficiency required
Ability to manage multiple projects and establish priorities. This includes vendor management to complete tasks
Proven leadership and experience in a high paced manufacturing setting
Strong communicator and proven ability to communicate with all levels of the organization is required.
Proven ability to maintain a positive work environment
Experience with at least one CAD system.
Experienced with at least one CMMS (Computer based Maintenance Management System) is desired
Strong computer and programming skills with Fanuc robots, Karel programming, RS Logix, RS Networx, RS Linx, Control Logix, Rockwell Studios.
Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point required. Knowledge of SAP is preferred
