Position Purpose:
Under general supervision, the Maintenance Mechanic (Automation) is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing automated equipment, including PLCs, robot controllers, positioning systems, vision systems, part feeders, and other related devices. This role reports to the Facility Manager and collaborates with multiple functions to ensure operational efficiency.

Primary Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing issues using electrical test equipment, and creating work orders. The position requires a technical background in electrical and mechanical systems and knowledge of PLCs. The Maintenance Mechanic adheres to all safety regulations, ensures quality standards, and supports the efficient flow of products through the production process.

Major Functional Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot automation issues and repair or replace parts as needed.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, mechanical, and automation problems.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on advanced automation and facility equipment.
  • Maintain calibration schedules and coordinate with vendors.
  • Communicate maintenance schedules effectively with management.
  • Accurately document issues and resolutions in the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Ensure all written documentation (SOPs, protocols, reports) meets regulatory and quality standards.
  • Communicate with third-party vendors or contractors.
  • Track all maintenance, repairs, and parts in the maintenance management system; create work orders.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties and maintain an orderly work area.
  • Secure all equipment and complete required reports and paperwork at the end of each shift.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Required Education:
High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience

Required Experience:
2 - 4 years experience in automated system maintenance related to warehouse and/or production environment.

2 - 4 years in HVAC maintenance, material handling equipment maintenance and general maintenance and repairs for large warehouse, fleet shop and office facilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Education:
Associates/2-year technical: Maintenance training / certification.

4+ years experience in automated maintenance warehouse and/or production environment including DMS (Dematic Multi Shuttle System) and other conveyor systems

4+ years in HVAC maintenance, material handling equipment maintenance and general maintenance and repairs for large warehouse, fleet shop and office facilities.

Previous Foodservice distribution and warehousing industry experience.

OSHA Forklift operator certificate; HVAC certification; ammonia refrigerant training and certification
