ACEMCO offers the following benefits to our second and third shift automatic press operators:  

 

Pay: $18.00 to $28.00 an hour plus shift premium ($2 on second, $1.50 on third).  Pay is dependent on experience and skillset.  Amount is not inclusive of total compensation package.

What can you expect as a second and third shift automatic press operator on a typical shift at ACEMCO?

As an automatic press operator your primary responsibility will be setting up, running, and monitoring up to 1,000 Ton presses.  You will be responsible for ensuring quality stampings are produced per the production orders and engineering specifications. As an automatic press operator, you will perform a variety of operations including but not limited to:

  • Responsible for performing all duties to ensure department and plant meet daily and weekly production requirements.
  • Set up and adjust stamping press according to die set-up sheet.
  • Responsible for selecting and verifying appropriate steel coils to ensure product meets customer requirements.
  • Change steel coils at appropriate intervals to ensure production output continues.
  • Frequently load, unload, lift/move, pull/push, and/or position products and materials weighing up to 40 pounds, occasionally weighing more (assistance given with heavier objects by work partner[s]), throughout assigned work center.
  • Properly pack parts in correct pin/storage container per packaging instructions to meet customer requirements while ensuring proper labeling requirements are followed. 
  • Complete on-line work center and operator inspection sheets to verify process are stable and all visual inspection and gage requirements are being met.
  • Ensure and maintain safety and cleanliness of work area by performing housekeeping duties.
  • Work and cross training on various work centers as required.
  • Responsible for completing appropriate paperwork and other documentation.
  • Meet daily production requirements.
  • Responsible for additional functions not specifically outlined in this position description as directed by the supervisor/manager.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).  
  • One year of experience running stamping presses (Automatic Feed) (preferred)
  • Ability to adjust press fingers (preferred).
  • Ability to adjust press speed or learn to adjust press speed (required).
  • Ability to set press height (shut height) or ability to learn to set press height (required).
  • Ability to use a variety of gages (functional, go/no go) (required).
  • PC and keyboard/mouse skills (required).
  • Ability to frequently lift/move material weighing up to 40 pounds (required).
  • Ability to work as a contributing member within a team environment (required).

 

 

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills

Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.  Hearing protection is required and supplied.  Eye protection (safety glasses) is required and supplied.  You are required to purchase and wear steel toe safety shoes or boots.

Shift Hours: 

2nd shift – 2 p.m. – 10 p.m.

3rd shift - 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.


 Monday – Friday with occasional overtime to be expected on Saturdays and Sundays.
