Job Overview:




Provides for the editing of existing CAD/GIS drawings for the purpose of updating and modifying drawings based on configuration changes. Coordinates with subcontractors and vendors throughout projects. Assists management team with various minor construction projects




  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Requires the use of judgment to plan, perform; general decisions are made to solve a problem or select a course of action for a standard or recognized method of operation.
  • Adjust current drawings and recommend changes based on their understanding and knowledge of the project.
  • Edit and draft CAD (computer-aided design) and GIS drawings.
  • Follow project schedules.
  • Meet all project specifications and formatting within company principles.
  • Meet project due dates.
  • Work closely with project managers and project engineers to make sure that the design is precise and to ensure that contract responsibilities are met.
  • Accountable for the maintenance of the CAD drawing library.
  • Aid in increasing and maintaining quality assurance processes.
  • Prepare presentation materials using AutoCAD graphic software.
  • Review and interpret client specifications.


  • Must have an Associates’ Degree in Applied Science (Architectural/Engineering Drafting Technology) and shall have completed the Environmental Science Research Institute (ESRI) Certified Introduction and Intermediate training in ArcGI.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the following:
  • Computer aided drafting and design, especially drawing and modeling in an Autodesk AutoCAD software environment
  • Drawing configuration management workflow processes in an Autodesk Vault software environment.
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data editing, map composition and geographic analysis with ESRI ArcGIS software.
  • Editing and maintaining GIS data in a Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure and Environment (SDS/FIE) compliant Spatial Database Engine (SDE) Geodatabase.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • This position requires a strong attention to detail and follow through, use of independent judgment, and excellent communication skills.
