**Job Responsibilities of an Automotive Technician:

**

• Assisting technician mechanics in performing technical activities.

• Diagnoses and repairs to specifications – brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.

• Adequately explains technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include employees and customers on an as-required basis.

• Continuously learns new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing automotive technology.

• Mechanics perform preventive maintenance and repair with efficiency and in accordance with company standards.

• Will be required to perform used car checklists to identify what repairs need to be made, including estimated costs and timeframes of repairs.

**Requirements

**

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an automotive mechanic

• DE State Inspection and Emissions Licenses a plus

• Must have a current and valid driver's license

• Team oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service

• Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.)

• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications is desired but not mandatory
