In this position, you will be the go-to expert for all things AV—setting up, operating, and maintaining innovative audio/visual systems for a wide variety of events. From student org meetings to large-scale conferences and performances, your work will help shape memorable experiences for thousands of guests each year.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of AV systems and event production. Excellent communication and critical thinking skills. Experience supervising or mentoring others, especially students. And the Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
What You Will Do
Lead AV Event Support
Set up, operate, and tear down AV equipment, including mixers, microphones, projectors, lighting, and cameras. Collaborate with event planners and clients to ensure flawless execution and document outcomes via post-event reports.
Team Leadership & Admin
Support a team of 4–8 student AV technicians. Oversee hiring, onboarding, training scheduling, and time approvals. Maintain documentation, inventory, and assist with equipment upgrades.
Install & Maintain AV Systems
Collaborate and assist in the installation and configuration of AV systems across the Memorial Union. Oversee preventative maintenance.
Tech Support
Provide hardware/software support to staff, train users, and assist with workstation and peripheral installations.
Other Duties
Pitch in wherever needed to support the success of the department.
