The Intermediate I Scientist, Engineer, Systems Analyst provides engineering support to the Oceanic Integration and Interoperability Facility (IIF) and other senior staff members, support to facility users for laboratory configuration, initialization, and shutdown. This position will also provide support for test execution, as well as development and review of project documentation. Specific required skills include knowledge of automated documentation and office productivity tools.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for the integration of CNI Core Competencies into daily functions, including: commitment to integrity, knowledge/quality of work, supporting financial goals of the company, initiative/motivation, cooperation/relationships, problem analysis/discretion, accomplishing goals through organization, positive oral/written communication skills, leadership abilities, commitment to Affirmative Action, reliability/dependability, flexibility and ownership/accountability of actions taken.
Supports maintenance of all operational systems within the IIF. Activities include execution of FAA System Support Modifications (SSMs), preventative hardware and software maintenance, software and hardware troubleshooting, and routine software backups.
Responsible for hardware installation, system integration, and installation and integration test execution.
Provides support for laboratory tools, tools testing, integration and troubleshooting.
Engineering support for integrating a new product or capability into the NAS.
Engineering support for system data reduction and analysis with a focus on the ERAM/ATOP systems.
Air Traffic simulation scenario development with a focus on ERAM/ATOP.
User evaluation support.
Engineering support for training of NAS systems.
Documentation development (user guides, design documents, assessments, operating procedures, etc.).
Conducts laboratory tours to various FAA groups.
Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions as the best of own ability.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in engineering, math or science and a minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION
JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
Experience with Advanced Technologies and Oceanic Procedures (ATOP) System is recommended.
Experience with operating system of CentOS, Red Hat, and Window 10 Operating Systems.
Experience with BASH Shell, Perl, and Python.
Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills a high priority.
Ability to read, analyzes and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
