We need our engineers to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in flexible, team-oriented environment. We are looking for individuals who have excellent communication and analytical skills.

    This position requires working knowledge of traffic engineering concepts including capacity analyses, traffic signal design, striping and pavement markings and roadway signage. Familiarity with standard publications like Highway Capacity Manual, Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), AASHTO Green Book and ITE Trip Generation Manual is helpful. The selected candidate will be expected to produce traffic analysis and simulation using software packages like Synchro/Sim Traffic, VISSIM and HCS. Responsibilities may also include data collection and field investigation efforts for transportation studies - including performing traffic counts, travel time runs, and roadway element inventories.

    Responsibilities:

  • Analyze traffic data including but not limited to traffic volumes, speed and crashes
  • Assist in developing traffic management and control plans
  • Assist in developing traffic signal timing and phasing design
  • Perform traffic simulations
  • Work as part of a team with designers and other multi-disciplined engineers.
  • Expected to meet tight deadlines and unexpected requirement changes.
  • This position is based in our East Hartford office but may require travel to project locations and attending off site meetings.
  • Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in Engineering (or related field)
  • Typically 0-3 years of related work experience.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate is preferred.
  • Requires basic process engineering knowledge, as well as a working knowledge of AUTOCAD/MicroStation and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering.
