Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking an Associate Structural Analysis Engineer located in Seal Beach, CA or Kennedy Space Center, FL. The selected candidate will support to the Collier Award winning X-37B and other proprietary programs. The primary role of this position is performing structural analysis to establish mechanical systems designs and ensure compliance with structural requirements. Experimental Systems Group has many project areas and is growing, so the candidate will be working on a wide variety of projects that range from sustaining efforts to new development and affords ample opportunity for career growth.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Performs basic structural analysis using well defined analysis tools to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.

  • Supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.

  • Defines and documents test results to substantiate for customers that requirements are satisfied.

  • Supports product manufacturing and testing by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.

  • Works under general supervision.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

  • 1+ years of experience and/or education in mechanical stress and structural analysis.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience in aerospace systems or structures.

  • 1+ years of experience working with structural sizing, and finite element models/simulations using NASTRAN/PATRAN, ABAQUS, Hypermesh, Optistruct, etc

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Note: Basic relocation is available for internal candidates based on candidate eligibility.
