Associate Specialist, Cost Control

Associate Specialist, Cost Control

Under direct supervision, you will perform routine assignments as an entry level professional within Cost Control. You will develop core competencies with existing procedures by solving standard problems.


  • Prepare project cost & performance reports for workhours, budgets, commitments, expenditures, and actuals.

  • Work closely with senior cost specialists to analyze and present project cost data and reports to project leadership.

  • Perform overhead, contract administration and budget management processes including preparation and presentation of compiled performance data

  • Prepare annual budget of field/construction indirect costs

  • Manage distribution of field/construction indirect costs in accordance with IRS and KBR Corporate guidelines

  • Perform data management tasks using SAP, Microsoft Excel, and Access, etc.

  • Coordinate inputs for project status reports with other departments and project leadership.

  • Manage workload for multiple sites and projects across customer base.

  • Perform SOX reconciliations related project audits as needed

  • Project Systems


  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in related Business, Accounting or Finance degree preferred.

  • Must be proficient in Excel and other Microsoft office products

    • Creation of Pivot Tables & Data Charts

    • LOOKUP functions, math functions

    • Creation and edit of formulas for financial analysis

    • Data sorting & filtering and conditional formatting

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to function as part of a project team
