The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Company is looking for an Associate Software Quality Engineer to join our Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) organization in Berkeley, MO.
Our team of highly motivated, customer-focused engineers’ partner with BDS programs to help develop and maintain a culture of first-time quality throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC). As a member of this team, you have the autonomy and responsibility to work with programs to assure the process for developing, controlling, and verifying software products is planned and executed, effectively improving the quality of our software products – whether developed by Boeing or provided by suppliers.
The quality engineers will utilize their software development and process expertise to effectively guide and influence project decisions. The selected candidate must work well with minimum direction, be self-motivated, with strong written and verbal communication skills, along with well-developed interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate and maintain a psychologically safe work environment.
Position Responsibilities:
Maintains software quality engineering program plans. Uses established criteria to review, comment and recommend approval of software life cycle documents and program products.
Conducts limited audits of software engineering processes and associated support functions.
Assists in configuration management activities such as software product release and change control boards.
Assists with review of deviations and waivers to the software baseline.
Improves products and processes and manage risk.
Verifies pre-test set up.
Monitors or witnesses test activity to established test plans and procedures.
Assists with verification of test results to performance requirements.
Uses established procedures and methods to perform final reconciliation of simple software data products.
Assists in verifying the acceptability of segments of the supplier's software quality systems and programs.
Assists with software acceptance and delivery activities for low risk procurements.
Identifies non-conformances and issues corrective actions.
Reviews and approves corrective and preventive action plans.
Assists in verification of effectiveness of corrective and preventive action plans.
Works under general supervision.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
1 or more years of experience in the Software Development lifecycle (including Requirements Analysis, Design, Code, Integration & Test
1 or more years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience supporting software with AS9115, DO-178, and/or MIL-STD-882E requirements
Experience with Software Development Processes
Experience with DevSecOps and associated tools
Experience with Project Management of products developed using Agile software development practices and tools (JIRA)

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $73,100 - $98,900.
