LM’s Integrated Warfare Systems & Sensors (IWSS) Division is currently seeking an Associate Software Engineer to work onsite at our Mount Laurel, NJ campus. This position is a highly visible role, working in a dynamic and collaborative Agile environment and supporting the full lifecycle of complex state-of-the-art systems that are deployed across the globe.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Design, develop and test (simulate) software for the Aegis Combat System, as well as other tactical Radar Control Programs
• Develop applications which support data analysis and mission outcome
• Utilize modern tools and engineering practices to develop new capabilities as well as support continuous improvement on deployed systems
• Support real-time multi-threaded processing using C++ programming
• Maintain human machine interface (HMI) applications (Java coded)
• Manage software build and data analysis utilizing Python extensively
• Successfully meet high level customer requirements (in-service support)
• Perform risk analysis as per the Monte Carlo Method
• Opportunity to travel if desired, as this position supports onsite installation and mission critical exercises in Virginia, California (both San Diego and San Francisco), Washington, and Hawaii. We also support systems sold to international customers in Japan, Korea, Australia, Spain, Norway, and the Marshall Islands.

Our center fosters career development in both technical and leadership paths through the Lead Software Engineering Development Qualification Program and just in time technical training. There are opportunities for Scrum Masters and Product Owners leadership roles, and new candidates are indoctrinated through early career development program within the broader Software Center Of Excellence.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Electrical and Computer Engineering

• One or more years’ experience working in a team environment with proven proficiency in full lifecycle software development

• One or more years’ experience in functional modeling, software engineering processes and software product life cycle (i.e.: C++, Linux)

• DoD security clearance at the “Secret” level prior to start

Desired skills

• Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical and Computer Engineering

• Experience with Java and Python

• Experience with Network Topology Configuration, Automated Test Tools and Techniques, Modeling Tools, Static Code Analysis tools

• Experience with Enterprise Architect, Rhapsody, and/or Umlet

• Familiarity with Agile Methodologies and tools (Atlassian tool suite is a plus)

• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

• Ability to communicate at both programmatic and technical levels with subordinates, peers, senior management levels and the customer

Ability to work remotely

Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
