QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)
BS/BA degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry, or biology with direct laboratory course work and 2-3 years direct laboratory experience
Working knowledge of experimental laboratory instruments and scientific products.
Experience with safe laboratory practices and procedures
Previous experience working in a GLP/GMP facility a plus
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Working knowledge of experimental laboratory instruments such as HPLC, UPLC, LC-MS, GC, UV-Vis, and FTIR to perform analytical characterization of both small molecules and biologics.
Experience with bacterial and mammalian cell protein expression and/or viral vector production.
Purification, and characterization of recombinant proteins and/or viral vectors using techniques such as FPLC, UFDF, filtration, SDS-PAGE, qPCR, western blot, and ELISA.
Handling of chemicals and/ or biological materials
Explore novel technologies and facilitate technical discussions with internal teams.
Conform to all customer requirements for background checks, health and safety issues, security clearances and medical checkups
Strong communication skills
Perform duties with the highest regard for safety and quality
Ability to understand and follow scientific protocols, policies and procedures
Must be flexible, forward-thinking, and motivated
Able to act independently and manage responsibilities while following scientific direction
Must be able to lift 25lbs minimum
Basic computing skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent)
Skilled at prioritizing tasks, problem solving, and meeting deadlines
