Job Overview:

MCA, your trusted advisor for wireless communications, data, and security, is seeking an experienced Associate RF Engineer in the VA, NC, or SC (must be willing to commute to one of the following cities Raleigh, NC; Charlotte, NC; Columbia, SC; Charleston, SC; Richmond, VA; or Manassas, VA) area to support our fast-growing Data division.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Designing and quoting cellular and ERCES In-Building Distributed Antenna Systems. 
  • Reviewing the efforts of in-house installers and technicians. 
  • Managing project progression up to construction kick-off. 
  • Delivering results on established expectations and priorities, identifying obstacles, and issues, and communicating to achieve resolution of assigned tasks.  
  • Meeting with carriers, AHJs, end users, and vendors. 

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, required. 
  • 1+ years of research and/or industry experience in RF.   
  • Proficiency with iBwave, AutoCAD and/or Visio. 
  • Basic understanding of AutoCAD, HFSS, and circuit simulation and modeling tools. 
  • Basic understanding of RF Circuits and wireless systems. 
  • Deliver results on established expectations and priorities, identify obstacles and issues, and communicate to achieve resolution for assigned tasks. 
  • Participate and work well within a cross-functional team to achieve desired results.  
  • Good computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office, and software design experience. 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.


YOUR ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

The physical environment requires the employee to work primarily inside and occasionally outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. 

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear; lift (overhead, waist level) from the floor, bending, frequently utilize near vision use for reading and computer use; occasionally move equipment weighing up to 15 pounds, and frequently position self to maintain computers or other equipment as needed.

 

 

While the primary duties of this job will be to work inside, the employee may be required to visit job sites for design verification. In addition to the above, this will also require the employee utilize personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to potentially hazardous materials; be able to handle semi-frequent stressful conditions (cardiovascular), sometimes work in outdoor weather conditions, occasionally ascend/descend a ladder, operate a motor vehicle, frequently position self to maintain equipment as needed.

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

 

Travel as necessary to support company and customer needs.
