Job Overview:

 

Job Title:                Associate, Production Control 

Reports To:           Supervisor, Production 

Position Location:       Metuchen, NJ

FLSA Status:                Non-Exempt     

Remote:         No 

 

Key Responsibilities:  


  • Production Scheduling: Create and maintain production schedules to meet customer demands while optimizing resource utilization. 
  • Inventory Management: Monitor raw materials, packaging, and finished goods inventory levels. Place orders for supplies as needed to prevent shortages and minimize excess inventory. 
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure products meet the established quality standards and specifications. 
  • Production Coordination: Coordinate with production teams to ensure that production orders are executed efficiently, meeting production targets, and timelines. 
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date production records, including batch records, quality reports, and inventory logs. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and efficiency enhancements within the production control process. 
  • Communication: Liaise with cross-functional teams, including production, quality control, and logistics, to facilitate smooth production operations. 
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and company policies. 
  • Mathematical and Numerical Skills: Proficiency in mathematical and numerical calculations for inventory management, demand forecasting, and data analysis. 
  • This position does not have direct reports but may serve as a coach and mentor to other production employees.  
  • Other duties as assigned.  

 

Education:  

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as supply chain management, industrial engineering or equivalent internal work experience is recommended.  


Experience:  

  • Previous experience in production control, inventory management, or a similar role is required.  
  • Proficiency using a computer and electronic databases, MS Office especially Excel, Outlook. 
  • Proficiency in using production planning and inventory management software (e.g., ERP systems).

  • Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in work. 
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to optimize production processes. 
  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment. 
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.  

 

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:  

  • Control exposures to hazardous chemicals and other safety hazards such as: 
    • Carcinogens 
    • Sharp and dangerous blades. 
    • Biohazard exposure to specimens 
  • Lifting of up to 50 lbs. occasionally.   
  • Ability to climb ladders (up to 10ft) occasionally
  • Safety Toes Shoes
