IMMI is seeking an Associate Product Engineer to join our Engineering Team. In this role, the Associate Product Engineer will assist in creating design solutions that a feasible, economic and suitable for available manufacturing capabilities. The role will coordinate all the seat build and testing throughout the product development and engage with customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists in creating design solutions that are feasible, economical & suitable for available manufacturing capabilities
- Support design and development to ensure products meet best weight vs cost balance
- Coordinates all the seat build & testing throughout the product development
- Engages with cross functional team to review, revise & communicate designs effectively
- Engages in technical reviews and exhibits attitude on driving things forward
- Engages with customers to understand needs and compile them into requirements document
- Maintains/updates configurations and BOMs throughout the development process
- Utilize Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) tools as appropriate during design, validation, and launch of the product(s)
- Responsible for technical documentation to include Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEAs), Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&Rs), Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM)
- Work with purchasing and supplier quality teams to ensure parts are sourced correctly and meet required quality levels; assist in Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
- Collaborate with cross functional teams such as Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, Operations, etc. to ensure seating system manufacturing and assembly feasibility and serviceability
- Other roles and responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering; Master’s degree preferred
- GPA of 3.5 or above is preferred. Demonstrate academic achievements in terms of understanding engineering design, hand calculations & involved principles
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical/structural design with focus on sheet metal & stamped component design – understands sheet metal manufacturing processes & designing in context
- Product knowledge/experience in seat design for structure, foam etc. will be a plus
- Working Experience in SOLIDWORKS – Good solid (part) design, assembly design, surfacing & drawings/annotations experience is required
- Experience in 2D drawing creation & release along with BOM management and release is required
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with customers, suppliers, and cross functional teams
- Knowledge of GD&T, DFMEA, DVP, APQP, QFD and other engineering tools will be a plus
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, DFA-DFM
- Ability to travel up to 25% within and/or outside of the U.S. to various unanticipated project sites based on project needs
