Job Overview:

Background & Purpose of the Job

This is a great opportunity to join Health & Wellbeing, which is the youngest Global Business Unit within Unilever. You will work with fast growing insurgent companies such as Olly, Welly, Smarty Pants, Onnit, Nutrafol and Liquid IV (and more to come!) in a very dynamic environment.

In this job you will be responsible for driving supplier strategy, compliance, innovation agenda and cost savings initiatives for all Operating Companies under the H&W Collective. This job encompasses the following responsibilities:

  • To be accountable for the developing and implementing sourcing strategies within the assigned portfolio, in conjunction with the Operating Companies (OPCOs) of the H&W Collective.
  • To focus on ideating, creating and implementing cost savings programs and initiatives constantly via interaction with the OPCO’s or via the organization of workshops.
  • To build and maintain strong working relationships with Business Partner Teams and user communities in the Operating Companies (OPCOs) and the Global Business Unit
  • To build and maintain relationships with key service and material suppliers
  • Strong sense of system/process improvement, lead to implement process optimization
  • Involve suppliers at the earliest opportunity in all requirement-raising stages and focus upon consolidation of requirements across operating companies on similar materials and services
  • Ensure pre-qualification where required of an appropriate number of potential suppliers
  • Analyze costs, focusing on total acquisition costs, including activity-based review and understanding suppliers’ cost drivers
  • Lead and drive supplier negotiation, planning interactions and outcomes, and assess success against desired outcomes. Challenge and negotiate to provide competitive offers
  • Deploy Unilever Purchasing Agreements and Contracts, using standard contracts where possible to ensure OPCOs utilize robust contracting language.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

  • A minimum of a Bachelor Degree Supply Chain, Business, Engineering. MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum 1.5-3 years general business experience in any Supply Chain function but preferably within Procurement (Packaging, Marketing and Business Services, Logistics, Contract Manufacturing)
  • Strong influencing skills and pro-active, complex stakeholder management & communication experience (within virtual and non-virtual teams).

Physical Requirements

  • Location Englewood Cliffs HQ (NJ), Los Angeles or San Francisco (no relocation).
  • Travel expected up to 10% of the time to support operating companies and visit supplier
