Job Description Qualifications:

We have an opportunity for Associate Payloads Design Engineers in Customer Support Organization in the field of Payloads/Interior. This position is located in Seal Beach, California.

This position supports customers on a 24/7 basis and operates on a variable shift and rotation schedule and will travel to integrate with customer, suppliers, and other organizations. In support of this 24/7 around the clock customer support initiative, working periodic off-normal shifts on a rotational basis is expected as part of this job.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical support for in-service product inquiries by reviewing and researching customer specific requests to draft efficient and common solutions across our fleet under the guidance of a senior engineer.
  • Researches and builds knowledge of Boeing and engineering design principles in order to develop solutions for technical in-service issues.
  • Drafts communication material to internal Boeing users and external customers on specific interior components/systems.
  • Provides customer advocacy in technical design reviews including new products.
  • Collaborates with appropriate suppliers and customers towards resolution of in-service issues.
  • Assists with root cause analysis and drafting dispositions for design non-conformances.
  • Assists system owner in preparation of technical communications.
  • Researches fleet data on customer findings for product/process improvement opportunities that may include recurrent product support issues.
  • Shares engineering data with interfacing groups.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
  • Willing to support an 24/7 on-call rotation environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • At least one year of experience in airplane Payload/Interiors Engineering.
  • Experience providing customer support.
  • Education/training and/or work experience with Catia V5 and Enovia.

Typical Education/Experience:

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
