ASRC Federal Field Services, a Subsidiary of ASRC Federal Holding Company, is currently seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer at the Plum Island Animal Disease Research Center, located on Plum Island, NY. (1.5 nautical miles off North Fork of Long Island & 6 nautical miles off coast of Old Saybrook, CT). Marine transportation furnished by Government provided ferry.
Summary:
Serve as a member of the Engineering and Project Management Team providing operations and maintenance support at a research facility. Provide engineering input, design, oversight, and support to projects assigned. Typical projects include new construction, renovations, facility modifications, and utility systems installations, maintenance, upgrades and repairs. Work is performed in support of a research laboratory and ancillary utility plants. Develop solutions to facility & equipment operations. Prepare cost estimates & subcontract bid packages. Plan projects from design through completion. Prepare project documentation including Job Hazard Analysis, Work, Safety, and Communication Plans, and Presentations to secure stakeholder approval. Manage projects to ensure work remains safe and on schedule and budget while adhering to appropriate biosafety integrity. Supervise and direct maintenance, trades, and subcontractor personnel assigned to projects. Ensure quality performance in the execution of various work projects. Manage project budget and schedule.
