Job Description Summary

#TeamAAM is looking for an Associate Manufacturing Engineer to join our Driveline team in Three Rivers, Michigan!

The Associate Manufacturing Engineer assists in the planning, design, control, and continuous improvement of integrated manufacturing processes/systems to produce quality, cost-effective products and services that comply with approved methods, and quality and regulatory requirements. They assist senior engineers and designers to concurrently engineer effective manufacturing processes/technology based on factors such as production volume, workforce skills, and market and economic considerations, while preserving product-design functionality. They also help develop production prototype units for evaluation by designers, production engineers, sales and marketing personnel, to allow product and process problems to be identified and remedied before proceeding with full-scale manufacturing. This individual will assist in design and set-up of the production facility around the sequence of operations required by the product or product layout, and continually supports the ongoing production manufacturing operation. They will also help identify potential improvement areas and develop associated solutions to continually improve overall production system performance.

Job Description

  • Hands-on production process troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Assist senior engineers in manufacturing equipment capital purchase decision-making; evaluating manufacturing processes and requirements.
  • Works with senior engineers on new equipment launches to include CNC program creation, process development, capability studies, and various launch activities.
  • Assists in the monitoring of equipment installations by advising crews.
  • Prepares equipment operators by assisting with training; providing support resources.
  • Assists with job instruction creation and creating necessary reference documentation to improve the understanding and operation of processes across all shifts.
  • Performs continuous improvement activities.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment (specifically Assembly and/or CNC Manufacturing).
  • Self-directed individual with strong communication and troubleshooting ability.
