Job Overview:

If you are a Machinist or Toolmaker looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting position for you! Based in our Emerson Chanhassen location, you will apply your knowledge of Machining and fixture design and building to create solutions and support systems that meet the needs of Manufacturing Engineers, and Production personnel in a shop environment. You will also have the opportunity to work individually or as part of a team on completing Shop work requests and Engineering projects. This role will support the Pressure Sub Assembly Manufacturing groups.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Setting up and operating sawing, deburring, drill press, and surface grinder equipment efficiently and safely.
  • Performing shearing and bending using sheet metal equipment.
  • Manual Lathe and Mill set up and operation.
  • Setting up and operating Mori Seiki CNC lathes and Haas VMC’s.
  • Programming CNC lathes and mills with proficiency in Mitsubishi, Haas, and Fanuc controls.
  • Learning/using CAM software (MasterCam) for CNC tool path and program creation.
  • Interpreting 2D mechanical drawings accurately.
  • Using precision measuring tools.
  • Demonstrating knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and basic PC use.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • 1800 hours of machining technical education or equivalent 
  • 0-2 years of related experience
  • Ability to work 1st shift hours (M-TH; 5:30 AM - 3:00 PM; F 5:30 AM - 9:30 AM)
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Machining or job-related experience
  • Enjoys problem-solving and troubleshooting activities to fix or repair equipment
  • Ability to succeed in self-paced work environment.
  • G and M-code CNC Program knowledge that may include Y-axis live tool lathe and Haas VMC’s with rotary axis
  • Knowledge and use of CAD software (Creo) for part design and step file creation
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
