Boeing Global Services (BGS), located in sunny Southern California, is seeking a Mid-Level Aircraft Environmental Control Systems Analysis Engineer with knowledge of Boeing design, certification, and engineering principles. Join our team in Long Beach, CA and make an immediate impact on our rapidly growing airplane development, modifications, customer service, and operational safety programs. As part of the Environmental Control Systems (ECS) group you will be working on components that directly impact the safety of airline passengers. You'll be an integral part of supporting the modification of all in-service Boeing Commercial Airplane models to meet our customers' needs. Position Responsibilities

  • Applies fundamental concepts to the development and documentation of Environmental Control Systems (air conditioning, air distribution, cabin pressure control, equipment cooling, cargo fire protection, nitrogen generating system, ice/rain protection, thermal analysis, computational fluid dynamics, etc.) design and analysis on large fixed wing aircraft
  • Assesses complex system events to determine potential safety issues, utilizing airplane spatial integration at the system and component level
  • Contributes to development of hardware and software component and system design requirements, and support supplier qualification of these components and systems
  • Supports component and system laboratory/airplane testing to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
  • Works under general supervision with airline customers and airplane component suppliers to ensure effective system integration and customer satisfaction
  • Willingness to expand into technical areas without prior experience
  • Desire to continuously improve our airplanes
  • Some travel may be required to support our customers as well as to have learning experiences to enhance your career.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or other technical degree
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplined Systems Engineering environment
  • 1+ years of experience working with or on an engineering team
  • Experience with any engineering disciplines related to aircraft Environmental Control Systems analysis, including compressible/incompressible fluid mechanics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, physical chemistry, systems engineering, and/or computational fluid dynamics

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Master’s degree or higher preferred in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar
  • Experience in the production, modification, and/or conversion of airplanes
  • Experience in a team lead role delegating responsibilities among several teammates
  • Experience working with multiple functions/teams

Typical Education/ Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.


This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.


This Hybrid position allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. (Long Beach, CA).
