We have an immediate need for an Associate Engineer at our office in Boulder, Colorado.

We’re looking for someone with 0-3 years of experience to support energy services team. We need someone with an enthusiastic attitude and a desire to help make the built environment more sustainable.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with and perform energy audits (ASHRAE Level 1 through investment grade), feasibility studies, building assessments, retro-commissioning and commissioning for clients in the commercial, industrial, and municipal/county government sectors
• Perform existing building assessments to take inventory of and analyze HVAC, water, and building envelope efficiency, and make recommendations based on impacts of energy, operational and environmental savings
• Meet with clients and discuss energy efficient solutions to mechanical, lighting and envelope designs
• Set up BAS trends, install data logging equipment, and analyze monitored data
• Identify and evaluate energy conservation measures using energy modeling and spreadsheet analysis
• Be able to manage and schedule a project in its entirety including report writing and jobsite observations and field testing
• Write field and site inspection reports for work performed, and assist in the final development of reports
• Review construction drawings and submittals and create pre-functional checklists and functional performance testing criteria for MEP systems for commissioning projects
• Execute new construction and existing building commissioning tasks in the field (issues database management, installation and functional testing, staff training, warranty reviews etc.)
• Ensure customer/client satisfaction for tasks performed
• Availability to travel out of state occasionally (up to 20%)

Experiences/Qualifications

• Excellent communication and organizational skills - oral, written, and presentation -- and proficiency with necessary supporting software (Microsoft: Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Education/Certificates

• BS in Mechanical, Architectural Engineering, or related engineering field.

• Ability and interest to become a licensed Professional Engineer and attain other credentials based on type of work and personal interests
• Ability to become a Certified Energy Manager

Pay Range:

$48,000 - $67,000 Annually
