Job Overview

We are looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join our team developing next-generation cockpit display software.

In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, debugging, verification, and maintenance of ARINC 661 graphics libraries using C++ and OpenGL/C. These software libraries provide a generalized cockpit display system kernel, user-application interfaces, and graphics-rendering capabilities.

You will work as an independent contributor while collaborating with experienced software and systems engineers to develop high-quality, reliable, and safety-focused aerospace software.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career software engineer to build strong expertise in C/C++, OpenGL, graphics systems, debugging, software verification, and aerospace cockpit technologies.

What You Will Do

• Design, develop, debug, test, document, and maintain critical cockpit display software.
• Develop and enhance ARINC 661 graphics libraries using C++ and OpenGL/C.
• Work on cockpit display system kernels, user-application interfaces, and graphics-rendering platforms.
• Contribute independently to software development and verification activities.
• Understand the interfaces and behaviors of external software and hardware components interacting with the developed system.
• Develop reliable solutions to complex technical problems using structured problem-solving techniques.
• Perform software debugging using tools such as Visual Studio and other debugging/development tools.
• Support software engineering teams in executing planned development and verification activities.
• Work with VAPS design tools for developing cockpit display widgets.
• Participate in software configuration management and change-control processes.
• Identify project dependencies, technical issues, and risks early and escalate them appropriately.
• Take technical ownership for assigned project deliverables and milestones.
• Collaborate effectively with software, systems, verification, and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Contribute to building strong offshore engineering capabilities through knowledge sharing and collaboration.
• Maintain high standards of engineering quality, integrity, and professional ethics.

Qualifications You Must Have

• 1+ years of experience in software development and verification.
• Strong hands-on experience in C and C++.
• Hands-on experience with OpenGL.
• Good understanding of software development and verification activities.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience using Visual Studio or similar development/debugging tools.
• Good understanding of system software concepts.
• Understanding of binary executables, debugging information, and operating system concepts.
• Ability to understand software/hardware interfaces and component behavior.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Willingness to learn and work on complex aerospace software technologies.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with ARINC 661 or cockpit display systems.
• Experience with VAPS design tools and widget development.
• Experience with Lauterbach or similar embedded debugging tools.
• Experience with software configuration management and change-control processes.
• Familiarity with tools such as DOORS, SVN, JIRA, PREP, and Confluence.
• Experience with structural coverage analysis.
• Experience with unit-test automation tools.
• Exposure to aerospace, avionics, embedded systems, or safety-critical software development.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and verification methodologies.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.

Bachelor's Degree / B.Tech / M.Tech in:

• or a related STEM discipline.
