The Associate Director, Veeva CRM Platform in the Data, Technology and Engineering (DTE) organization will be responsible for the strategy, implementation and operations of the CRM eco-system for Global Field teams within the Commercial Organization of Vertex Pharmaceuticals.

This role is responsible for managing the Field CRM platform including vendor management and overseeing delivery of business capabilities to support the Commercial Field teams within the CRM. Main responsibilities include developing relationships with business stakeholders and with the technology leadership across DTE. The Platform Lead is required to understand key business strategies, processes, advise, and contribute to the strategic technology roadmap and portfolio, ensure digital capabilities are enabled across the CRM, Digital Multi-channel Engagement/Marketing platforms, and the Business Intelligence and Data platforms and other related technologies. The leader must be comfortable working in a deadline-driven manner to meet business critical milestones to support the Commercial field team through drug product launches and long-term HCP engagement.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Commercial Sales and Marketing, Managed Markets, Commercial Operations, and other stakeholders globally to evaluate, recommend, and deliver CRM and related technology solutions in alignment with key business priorities

  • Manage the demand and delivery of digital capabilities in the Field CRM.

  • Coordinate work activities across DTE and with external partners to design, deliver and maintain application, data & analytical solutions. Provide leadership in the implementation of multi-channel CRM and customer data technologies with the objective of enhancing provider engagement

  • Manage technology vendors including managed services. Will also include future management of Vertex FTE’s.

  • Partner with the Enterprise Architecture team and make recommendations on applicable CRM, digital engagement, and analytical solutions based on knowledge of industry trends

  • Partner with the DTE Commercial Field Team Business Engagement Leads and Project Management Office to prioritize, contribute, and help manage the Commercial Field portfolio including budget and forecasting.

  • Assess solutions and data in alignment with key business capabilities and contribute to the IT strategic roadmap to address immediate and longer-term needs or deficiencies

  • Collaborate with Field Medical CRM leads to harmonize capabilities where appropriate and to share best practices

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of Commercial Field teams’ business strategies, processes, and operations within a commercial biopharma environment

  • Understand the regulatory environment and drive collaboration with the Legal and Compliance team, as required

  • Knowledge of Veeva CRM, MedComm, and Salesforce experience.

  • Good functional knowledge of a Life sciences commercialization process.

  • Understanding of core project management concepts and service delivery best practices.

  • Veeva CRM and Salesforce certification is a plus

  • Experience with Business Analysis, Project Management and Agile methodologies

  • Strong business relationship management skills

  • Ability to think strategically to improve current processes and enable key business capabilities

  • Ability to work independently and across levels of the organization

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology discipline or equivalent

  • Minimum 9 years of experience in biopharma technology with at least 5 years supporting Commercial field-based functions
