Accountable for the full lifecycle of Low Earth Orbit Space products and services from inception through completion, inclusive of pursuit and order capture, design and development, produce to deliver, service/support, and long-term strategic business plans. Assigned as the chair of the Integrated Project Team (IPT) accountable for managing the contract lifecycle, cost, schedule, performance and on-time delivery of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Serves as the face of the organization to clients and customers. Has profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility for the assigned L5 value stream within the LEO portfolio.
Accountable for all customer commitments including deliveries and financial performance
Leads a team of multiple L6 VSLs & PMs with matrixed responsibilities over sub-system teams.
Accountable for entire performance of the assigned value stream and influences matrixed IPTs decision making.
Drives a positive impact on customer satisfaction through regular customer interface and execution of project scope.
Regularly influences and negotiates to achieve and/or exceed enterprise commitments.
Leads decision making for the IPTs and applying critical thinking where incomplete data exists.
Develops internal and external networks and effectively communicates and motivates a team.
Communicates vision to their IPT and stakeholders within and outside of the function, as well as connects how the vision fits within the Space market.
Impact over projects large in scope. Plans, directs, and monitors collateral budget and leads key strategic value streams with long-term revenue potential with an impact lasting 5-10 years.
Strategic R&D investments may span over 1-5 years, as appropriate.
As the successful candidate, you will be required to manage multiple programs. Responsibilities include interacting with internal and external customers, leading proposal generation, identifying growth opportunities to increase sales and profitability, managing all technical and hardware deliverables, ensuring development programs meet commitments on schedule and budget while meeting all customer requirements, and communicating the policies, purposes, and goals of the organization to the cross-functional team.
Serve as the Capture Manager for new business opportunities, to include developing customer relationships, win strategies, developing estimates, management of timely submittals of major proposals and contracts, and conduct successful customer negotiations.
Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules, proactively identify problems and obtain solutions, such as allocation of resources or negotiating contractual specifications.
Be responsible for risk/opportunity management and earned value management of assigned work to ensure on-time and within budget completion, including work performed at subcontractors..
Represent our company with our customers and manage the program to meet contract requirements, including delivery schedules, cost, and technical specifications.
Organize and conduct program status reviews, team meetings, and various other regular business activities.
Represent the program to our company senior management, managing and reporting revenue, gross margin, capital expenditure, new business development, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities include interacting with internal and external customers, managing across multiple sites, identifying growth opportunities to increase sales and profitability, ensuring development programs meet schedule, budget and all customer requirements, and communicating the policies, purposes, and goals of the organization to the cross-functional team.
Support the establishment and implementation of a strategic growth plan for the business
Manage all aspects of the business including negotiations, meeting customer contract and technical requirements, cost and schedule.
Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR
Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience OR
In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
Experience managing complicated customer relationships
Experience with space system products and services
Hands on project management experience
Highly organized; attention to detail
