Job Overview:

We are currently looking for a Site Services and Security Associate Director to join our team in Rockville, MD. In this role, you’ll be responsible for all Facility “Soft” Services, including cleaning, landscaping, café services, security and building maintenance. Responsible for service contract management and purchase orders related to these services. Responsible for the overall care and maintenance of the building and grounds infrastructure. Responsible for space planning and movement of people between SSM and LSM building. Directs and manages capitol modifications to office and lab space. Individual will organize facilities services staff members to carry out daily work orders as they are generated and track to closure. Also coordinate activities with other operation groups (Manufacturing, Engineering, EHS, Validation, Materials Management and Quality departments). Coordinate with staff annual Shutdown activities associated with Manufacturing


  • Responsible for all management of soft services
  • Oversee renovations to office and lab projects
  • Responsible for all GMP and non-GMP cleaning
  • Responsible for the site security program
  • Responsible for managing security service provider
  • Building interior and exterior maintenance, including elevators, windows, doors. Flooring, ceilings, walls, locks, security system, video surveillance, food service equipment, bathroom fixtures, ceiling tile, drywall repairs, painting, office repairs, walk-off mats, gowning, exterior window washing
  • Site Maintenance &Grounds keeping, landscaping, irrigation systems, snow removal, parking lots, drainage systems, pest control, painting, and outside fixture re-lamping.
  • Solicit vendors, prepare budgetary cost estimates, review scopes of work and evaluate pricing for projects. Develop, review, manage and execute engineering and construction contracts.
  • Ensures Self Inspection Universe procedures for area of responsibility are in place and in use.
  • Ensure all Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) adverse event investigations are started within 24 hours
  • Ensure all EHS adverse event Root Cause Analysis (RCAs) are documented and completed within 5 days
  • Own the EHS risk assessment process within management area (i.e., identify operations needing to be assessed, approve completed assessments, and ensure any required mitigation/Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPAs) are implemented on time
  • At least weekly, conduct routine EHS-focused process confirmation at in the area of management
  • At least monthly, review area self-inspection reports to identify recurring EHS issues and ensure effective CAPAs are implemented

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of experience in facilities management
  • Experience with production operations
  • Must be able to lift 40lbs
  • Must be able to operate heavy machinery (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.)
  • Must be willing to spend >50% of time walking facilities and grounds

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • 5+ years in a biotech or pharmaceutical facility
  • SpacePlanning software
  • Microsoft office knowledge
  • Site Security experience
  • Pest control experience
