Collins Aerospace is looking for an Associate Director of our Manufacturing Operations, in Jacksonville FL who will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing operational process maturity and performance to ensure a high level of efficiency and customer satisfaction.

This position works onsite at our Blount Island building in Jacksonville FL.

The role requires excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to oversee all Operational aspects of the Value Stream including Production, CNC machining, shop floor management, talent management, process improvement, and schedule adherence, along with people and product safety. You will interact with both internal and external customers and across multiple levels within the organization.
The Value Stream is responsible for Naval Structures supporting various US Navy platforms. Production operations are located across two sites and three value streams in Jacksonville, Florida.
What You Will Do
Manages the execution of operations to meet established targets and metrics within Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People
Develops operational and financial objectives for all operational areas in order to increase profitability and mitigate all risks to the business
Direct a multi-functional team to ensure areas meet business strategy objectives
Maintains compliance to all regulations, laws and mgmt. systems requirements
Proactively reduces EH&S risks and promotes safe behaviors in the workplace Supports all safety programs to include behavioral based safety and job hazard analysis; ensures that Operations is flawless executing all safety programs that Operations is responsible for performing
Manages capacity, demand, & resource plans to ensure rate readiness and 100% On-time delivery to internal and external customers
Supports the Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process to ensure that adequate capacity and headcount are planned and maintained for the operations teams
Ensures successful implementation of engineering development activities
Develops maturity of Business Intelligence tools to ensure efficient material flow
Integrates tactical & strategic supply chain updates to ensure delivery and manage risk
Manages objectives for operating budgets, capital plans and cost savings targets. Ensures that utilization and labor efficiency are achieved, and sales output is realized
Achieves inventory improvements and manages manufacturing variances
Ensures effective implementation of product and manufacturing technologies
Identifies and executes manufacturing technologies & world class manufacturing initiatives aligned with the 5-yr strategic plan
Champions change through the active support of Continuous Improvement tools and processes. Leads and supports all Operational continuous improvement processes and initiatives to include Visual Management Strategy, Layout Linkage Flow, and 5S
Develops the annual operational macro plan and ensures individual projects are implemented to resolve the problem, issue or opportunity
Drives employee engagement / positive culture and executes strategic workforce planning initiatives
Standardizes best practices across operations and business processes
Ensures adherence to our Operational rhythm to include Tier meetings, IPT construct, Gemba boards, RCCA, RTPR, and recovery plans
Executes a robust talent management and succession planning process
Ensures all training and skills are assessed to ensure no critical skills gaps
Represents the organization to sustain a positive organizational culture
Ensures compliance with all government and corporate policies and procedures
Qualifications You Must Have
Qualifications We Prefer
STEM or Engineering Bachelor’s degree
CNC machining operations (composite preferrably)
Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Project)
Experience with SAP
Experience as an Operations Manager working in a high mix, low volume manufacturing environment
Experience with Solumina or relevant MES experience
Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity
Chemical processing, composite or rubber layup manufacturing experience
Demonstrated experience implementing world class manufacturing techniques
Certified in Six-Sigma
Behavioral Based Safety (BBS) or Human and Organizational Performance (HOP)
Demonstrated ability to establish and mature a Continuous Improvement culture
Experience with single piece flow in a mixed model production environment
Demonstrated experience with new program introductions (NPI) and rate increases

The salary range for this role is 157,200 USD - 298,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
