We are seeking a creative, resourceful, and collaborative Associate Director, Investor Relations to join a rapidly growing and dynamic biotechnology company. Reporting to the Senior Director, Investor Relations, and working closely with the SVP, Global Corporate Affairs and Investor Relations, you will be responsible for supporting the execution of investor relations activities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain an ongoing, written strategic investor relations plan evolving alongside Novavax’ growth in conjunction with external investor relations agency
    • Targeting strategy for buy-side to support diversification of investor base
    • Targeting strategy for sell-side to gain additional analyst coverage
    • Tiering strategy for buy-side and sell-side to guide outreach and engagement efforts
    • Active IR calendar of events to ensure impactful engagement with the buy-side and sell-side, including targeting investor conferences and coordinating NDRs
  • Develop and maintain an ongoing, written 3-month action plan in conjunction with external investor relations agency
    • Specific tactics and timeline for execution of written Strategic IR Plan
  • Continuously refine corporate story and messaging in conjunction with external investor relations agency
    • Assist development of strategy for content of presentations for conferences, investor deck for the corporate website, quarterly earnings materials and Q&As
    • Proactively solicit sell-side and buy-side feedback to inform corporate messaging
    • Engage with Novavax’ external agencies across the Global Corporate Affairs and Investor Relations department to ensure alignment of corporate messaging and strategy
  • Assist in execution of IR events, including but not limited to conferences, NDRs, and R&D/analyst days
    • Implement investor targeting strategy to ensure impactful investor engagement
    • Optimize conference selection and senior management attendance
  • Assist development of materials for Novavax’ management and Board of Directors
    • Shareholder analytics report following quarterly 13F filings
    • Quarterly updates for Novavax’ Board of Directors, including overview of sell-side and buy-side activity
  • Support Novavax’ IR team on as-needed basis for ad-hoc requests, including but not limited to the following:
    • Conduct investor and analyst outreach following major milestones
    • Provide recommendations for engagement with new investors and analysts
    • Assist with recaps of sell-side reports
    • Aid in obtaining covering analysts’ financial models and provide FactSet consensus to ensure alignment of forecast models
    • Monitor peer activity and provide summaries on IR related catalyst events such as R&D Days and earnings
  • Assist in development of investor-facing materials, including:
    • Investor press releases
    • Investor factsheets
    • Corporate investor presentations
    • Investor section of corporate website
  • Manage the quarterly and annual earnings process, including management of internal stakeholder reviews and collaboration with legal and finance departments to develop materials, including:
    • Earnings releases
    • Earnings call scripts
    • Earnings presentations
    • Quarterly and annual SEC filings
  • Under supervision of Director, Investor Relations, partner with legal department to organize annual meeting of shareholders, including managing timeline for deliverables, such as venue selection, vendor selection and annual report
  • Serve as the first line of contact to Nasdaq surveillance, identifying key market movers and reconciling these with existing shareholder and target lists
  • Assist in responding timely to requests for information from external stakeholders

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree required; Masters preferred
  • 7-10 years working experience with a minimum of 5+ years relevant financial experience in investment banking, equity research, investor relations, consulting, corporate finance, or related fields
  • Understanding of capital markets
  • Knowledge of SEC and disclosure requirements
  • Exceptional oral and written communications and presentation skills (strong skills in PowerPoint)
  • A professional, outgoing personality with a high level of energy, a strong work ethic, resourcefulness and flexibility
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; enthusiastic, team player and self-starter; commitment to excellence skills, excellent attention to detail and diligence in deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to manage diverse priorities with positive outcomes
  • Willingness to work on projects across the department
