The Clinical Data Analytics and Insights team is responsible for Moderna’s data and analytics strategy for all aspects of mRNA drug development: from leveraging RWD for protocol design, accelerating trial operations through operational insights delivery, collecting and harmonizing our clinical data for review and reporting, enable our AI/ML capabilities across our clinical data platform. Moderna is seeking a digital leader for Therapeutic Area Analytics & Insights. Reporting to the Director, Data Analytics & Insights, this role will spearhead the strategy to enable data and analytics capabilities for emerging data sources like, wearable streams, digital pathology, imaging, omics and RWD.

You will act as catalyst and connector at the intersection of therapeutic areas, real world evidence, clinical operations, and data management to enable an insights culture for drug development. You will engage with Moderna leading edge engineering and informatics team and work closely with our data science and AI team (DSAI) to contribute to a one digital engine.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

  • Drive the digital enablement of data, analytics and insights across drug development in collaboration with functional stakeholders and informatics colleagues

  • Collaborate with therapeutics area leads to identify novel data sources and insights to support and accelerate innovative drug development.

  • Provide digital guidance to clinical research and trial teams on the design and implementation of data ingestion and consumption for clinical data, biomarkers, pathology, imaging, wearable health devices data and RWD data

  • Connect with colleagues in research informatics and digital for commercial to align analytics strategy across Research, Development and Commercial

  • Manage and balance demand for data and analytics across drug development

  • Conduct vendor and technology evaluations, ensuring tech stack meets Moderna’s architecture and appropriate data handling and cybersecurity requirements

  • Collaborate with Moderna's architecture and engineering team to ensure product components align with Moderna's architecture blueprint

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:

  • 10+ years of experience in data and analytics in pharma/biotech with a focus on clinical data (including biomarker data and high-volume omics data) data and RWE

  • Extensive experience in translation and clinical research and broad therapeutic area research exposure spanning from oncology, immunology, cardiovascular and rare diseases

  • Tangible experience in defining and implementing AI/ML based solutions for advanced analytics

  • Demonstrated experience in collaboration with stakeholders and driving change cross-functionally

  • Success in building and managing analytics delivery teams leveraging a platform approach

  • Proven experience with visualization best practices and data story telling

  • As a technologist, you know your craft and you are fluent in the digital world. You have first-hand knowledge of SaaS, cloud, and AI technologies in a GxP environment.

  • Working knowledge of CSV concepts for GxP applications and robust understanding and practice of change management

  • Ability to practice design thinking and human centered design to drive innovative solutions

  • You can identify opportunities to use data as an asset to drive operations efficiency and generate novel insights to accelerate processes

  • You work independently yet engage proactively with team members, colleagues, and stakeholders to get alignment and drive solutions forward.

  • You don't hesitate to dive in and work alongside your team. You can effectively manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment, and you can navigate ambiguity and lead a team effectively

  • You put the team before tasks by collaborating actively with all team members and supporting them

  • Bachelor's degree in Life science, Biotechnology, Computer Science or equivalent required. Master's degree preferred.
