About the role:

Takeda Pharmaceuticals is seeking an Associate Director for Cybersecurity Operations. You will manage a team of direct, indirect, and outsourced resources for the delivery of global cybersecurity operations services. The candidate should be comfortable with leading the overall delivery of cybersecurity operations in a highly dynamic environment and capable of adjusting priorities of work based on changing operational needs and an evolving threat horizon.

How you will contribute:

    • Manage and maintain 24/7 cybersecurity controls, operations, services, and resources
    • Oversee escalation, response, resolution, and reporting of information cybersecurity incident (service) resolution
    • Ensure high-availability service levels, technical controls, analytics, and operations support objectives

    • Oversee the development and maintenance of cybersecurity control processes, standards, and architectures

    • Direct assessments of mixed platform environments including systems, networks, databases, and applications

    • Lead change management, operational readiness, and performance delivery for information cybersecurity solutions

    • Direct maintenance, support, administration, break/fix remediation (including root cause analysis), availability/capacity reporting, and health/performance monitoring

    • Oversee the collection and management of metrics to ensure effective/efficient cybersecurity controls and analytics

    • Partner with other business areas to effectively predict, prevent, detect, and respond to information cybersecurity threats

    • Research, evaluate, and recommend new cybersecurity technologies, processes, and methodologies

    • Assist with the development and management of budget, technology, service, and solution/vendor roadmaps

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of work experience delivering information cybersecurity (operations, engineering, and assurance)
  • 5+ years of work experience managing information cybersecurity operations
  • Experience managing direct, indirect, and outsourced resources
  • Experience managing operations strategies, running books, and performance measures
  • Performance improving operations by applying industry best practices
  • Be able to present analytical data to a variety of audiences
  • Analytical skills and understanding of data analysis methods
  • Experience translating complex technical information into terms and products useful to upper-level management
  • Willingness to share on-call responsibilities, work non-standard hours, aid Information Cybersecurity investigations, and travel (up to 15%)


  • Industry certification such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or the equivalent combination of formal education, training and experience (Master’s degree considered a plus)

Desired Skills:

  • Significant experience managing information cybersecurity operations programs
  • Demonstrated experience managing leading information cybersecurity solutions, platforms, and technologies
  • Strong analytical abilities, strong interpersonal skills, good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to lead and work in a collaborative team environment
  • Experience working within a validated environment (21 CFR Part 11)
  • Experience leading and/or managing global and multi-tiered organizations
  • Effective project management skills
