This role partners with the Oncology business unit and supports the marketing efforts across all channels across two primary brands, with multiple indication within Oncology Immunotherapy. The individual will lead a team in building and executing customer engagement plans across brands. A full time Associate Director, Engagement and Channel Planning with strong digital expertise will be critical to the success of our brands.

In this role, you will be responsible for the development and execution of engagement plans across multiple channels to support BMS brand teams. You will serve as a dedicated digital engagement point-of-contact for a brand. Additionally you will collaborate on offline efforts to build a cohesive omnichannel strategy. This role requires extensive internal matrix/team collaboration (Production, Brand, Omni-Channel Capabilities, Business Insights & Analytics). As well as management of external partners such as creative agencies and media agencies. Ideal candidates will be intermediate storytellers, with strong presentation skills, and the ability to negotiate based on strong rationale and key insights. Candidates for this position should have experience in patient digital marketing within the Rx pharmaceutical category. Experience in oncology is highly valued. This role is part of the Engagement Planning & Production team, which sits within the broader Worldwide Customer Capabilities group.


  • Drives & owns execution of the consumer engagement plan for the brand

  • Contributes to customer engagement recommendations based upon customer insights and brand strategy

  • Drafts and delivers creative briefs and other necessary required documents to support the development of digital programs

  • Leads internal MLR review processes and work with external partners to ensure timely and accurate preparation of digital programs (e.g., CRM, media, websites, mobile, eMail, social media, SEO/SEM, display, point-of-care, emerging channels, etc.)

  • Partners with the digital creative agency, media partners and BMS Production team to define project scope, costs, timelines, and deliverables

  • Leads cross matrix team in the pull through of digital tactics and media programs that drive business impact

  • Collaborates with Business Insights & Analytics to ensure KPI identification, measurement plans, and ongoing reporting/optimization of digital programs based on insights and analytics. Utilizes 3rd party measurement tool to build insights.

  • Drives innovation by partnering with Brands, external partners and capability leads to develop innovative new digital tactics

  • Monitors project status and budget and provide regular reporting on progress, challenges, and solutions

  • Demonstrates digital and consumer program leadership and management experience

  • Tracks and manages annual digital program and media budgets

  • Hybrid work opportunity. Ability to work in the office two days a week is preferred.

  • Business travel may be required, up to 10%


  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 5-7 years industry, (pharmaceutical/biotech or related agency) experience; MBA is a plus.

  • Significant experience in leading digital engagement, channel and analytics planning activities

  • Experience in pharmaceutical consumer digital marketing

  • In-depth knowledge of customer engagement and digital strategy

  • Proven ability in managing digital agencies, vendors, and cross-functional support teams

  • Consumer tactical execution experience with a focus in digital

  • Capabilities in consumer digital, patient support/relationship marketing

  • Competence in developing, evaluating, and activating media plans

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate internal MLR review processes

  • Product launch and/or Immunology or Cardiovascular experience a plus

  • Prior Digital or Media Marketing Agency experience is a plus

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Veeva PromoMats, AdobeAnalytics, WorkFront
